A program by Maaike Klasen, MK Coachpartner

The Klaproos program

What lives between people decides what can bloom.

A team grows from a seed under the ground to full bloom, in seven steps with Maaike. Between sessions, everyone talks with NIA, whenever it suits them.

Not a person's style, but the pattern between people decides what can bloom.

How the program runs.

  • Session with Maaike
  • NIA, every day in between

The program follows the phases of Maaike's MK Klaproosmodel®, in seven steps. In the weeks between sessions, NIA comes along.

  1. Intake What must this team deliver, and in what context? What stands in the way, which patterns keep repeating, and what does success look like?
  2. Seed under the ground A lens on interaction What feeds the team from within? Where do its patterns of interaction come from?
  3. Germinating Awareness and breakthrough What wants to come to life in the team, despite resistance?
  4. Stem growth Structure and agreements How does the team create sturdiness and direction?
  5. Bloom Results and success How does the team really show itself?
  6. Cross-pollination Influence on the bigger whole What does the team contribute to the wider organization?
  7. Aftercare Looking back together on how the team grew, and closing the program.
The five phases of the Poppy Model, drawn as a growing poppy: seed under the ground, germinating, stem growth, bloom and cross-pollination, each with a question of its own (in Dutch).
The MK Klaproosmodel®, by Maaike Klasen.

The poppy opens to the light and closes to the dark.

In the same way, a team needs both opening and closing to work. The Poppy Interaction Model makes visible what goes on between people, and whether it is open or closed.

An interaction pattern arises between people. That is exactly why you can shape it together.

When is something a pattern?

  1. 1× An incident.
  2. 2× More than chance.
  3. 3× A pattern.

About the approach

The MK Klaproosmodel® is a metaphor, a five-phase model, a method and a way of governing: an ecosystem for team and organizational development. Its theoretical grounding is set out in a white paper.

The program starts from the seed under the ground: the team’s potential. With the Klaproos Interaction Model as a lens, the team recognizes and breaks through open and closed patterns of interaction. It lives that breakthrough in germinating. In stem growth, it works on new structures and patterns. It celebrates success by blooming, and shares it through cross-pollination.

What NIA adds

The MK Klaproosmodel® is Maaike's. How it works best together with NIA is something Maaike and NIA develop together.

  • Everyone holds on to the potential that woke up in the session.

NIA knows what each person set out to do, and thinks along.

  • A low threshold to get going.

Typing or out loud, on a phone or a laptop, whenever it suits someone.

  • Between sessions, nobody is on their own.

What stays each person's own

What someone discusses with NIA stays theirs. Not the team's, not the organization's, not MK Coachpartner's. What someone writes in answer to Maaike's questions, they share only if they choose to.
